This was such a fun little sweetheart apron to make. Originally, I wanted to be able to make it out of a single yard of fabric. I fiddled and fudged with the pattern and the fabric until successs was achieved - mission accomplished! The one drawback was, the neckties turned out a tad short. Not a problem for me since I'm a bit short waisted...but it could be a problem for those that are not. So, the pattern includes two different cutting layouts, just in case you want the longer ties. Short ties = 1 yard of fabric, longer ties = 1 1/8 yards.
The apron can either be made with your standard-find-it-almost-anywhere-basic-extra-wide-double-fold-bias-tape (the black apron). OR, you can make it fancy with some specialty pleated bias trim (the red apron - I found the trim at Hobby Lobby). The bias tape apron was the easier of the two.
This pattern will be priced at $8, but for the first week of release (until 02/13/2012) it's $5. It can be purchased as an instant download here or you can buy it from my etsy shop (and wait for me to email you the pattern.)
